Leaders Emerge Within Tiger Institute!

LSU Athletics is proud to announce the newest class of the Tiger Institute for Sports Leadership and Mental Performance, an initiative developed in partnership with Sports Psychology & Counseling and Tiger Life. The Institute provides a select group of student-athletes with advanced training in mental performance, leadership development, and personal growth—skills that will serve them in competition, in the classroom, and throughout their lives.

The program focuses on strengthening core areas of success, including mental resilience, focus under pressure, visualization and goal setting, effective communication, stress management, and confidence building. Through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on activities, the Institute empowers student-athletes to become leaders for their teams and role models in the LSU community.

After a competitive application and interview process, seven outstanding student-athletes were selected to the 2025 cohort:

Abigail Savoy: LSU Softball

Brielyn Knowles: LSU Soccer

Kolaj Cobbins: LSU Football

Emedy Ruto: LSU Cross Country

Tyree Adams: LSU Football

Konnor McClain: LSU Gymnastics

Bella Lagemann: Beach Volleyball

The Tiger Institute serves as the leadership and mental performance academy for LSU student-athletes. Throughout the academic year, these student-athletes will be equipped with skill-based mental performance instruction and leadership skills that they may instantly apply while engaging in their sport or in other aspects of their lives. The foundation of this course centers upon methods derived from sports psychology, mental health counseling, and a variety of leadership principles to include but not limited to 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, mindfulness, breathing techniques, and a variety of leadership assessments.

Now in its latest year, the Tiger Institute for Sports Leadership and Mental Performance continues to highlight LSU’s dedication to the holistic development of its student-athletes, preparing them not only to win in sports but also to succeed in every arena of life.
