April 2026: Most Valuable Players

These team members have been nominated by their colleagues for demonstrating our core values in their work!

Myles Doherty, Assistant Director of Operations: EXCELLENCE, RESPECT

“Myles Doherty has been instrumental in the success of recent LSU Athletics events, playing a critical role in the Zach Bryan concert while also supporting Beach Volleyball without hesitation. He consistently goes above and beyond—first one in, last one out, even on weekends—and never waits to be asked. Myles anticipates needs, takes initiative, and handles every task with urgency and professionalism, all while maintaining a positive, team-first attitude.

Since transitioning from student worker to full-time staff, Myles has done so seamlessly, quickly becoming a trusted leader and role model for both student staff and full-time team members. He sets the standard through his work ethic, reliability, and selfless approach, truly embodying LSU Athletics’ core values.” ~nominated by Julie Cribbs

Houston Franks, Assistant Track & Field Coach: EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY, SERVICE

“Sunday, March 8, brought storms of biblically epic proportions to Baton Rouge. Cats and dogs living together kind of storms. A vast amount of rain was dumped in a short time period. Because of this, oceans of water flooded the Bernie Moore Track and Field, and bringing every wood chip and leaf that was on the ground onto the track surface. Drains were clogged. Leaves and mulch filled the drains and pooled everywhere on the track. It was in short, a chaos of mess. Monday, March 9, Houston Franks arrived at the track early in the morning for his practices. Seeing the mess, Houston does what a guy from Tupelo does. He rolls up his sleeves and britches and got to work. Athletics may have 8 core values, but Houston has a 9th, physical fortitude. A value taught to him as a youngster, working in his grandad's fields, helping to harvest crops and doing work around the farm. He grabbed himself a shovel and started moving the mess from the drains. Started raking and blowing. He didn't have to. But he did, because just leaving it as is, is not inside of Houston's body. To note, our incredible facility group came along shortly after and did the remarkable and detailed work they do. Hip Hip Hooray for Houston, his fine work and dedication to LSU athletics and his inner core values!” ~nominated by Todd Lane

Deron Irons, Assistant AD/Ticket Operations: EXCELLENCE, PERSEVERANCE

“Deron Irons was instrumental in the success of the Zach Bryan concert, managing an extremely dynamic ticketing environment that included last-minute changes, refunds, and relocations right up to 30 minutes before gates opened. Despite the pressure and constant adjustments from AEG, Deron remained steady, solution-oriented, and highly communicative, ensuring that every issue was handled efficiently and with the customer experience in mind.

Deron’s work truly reflects LSU Athletics’ core values—particularly perseverance and excellence. His ability to collaborate and communicate across departments during a critical time built trust and alignment when it mattered most. Events of this scale require everyone working as one unit, and Deron exemplified that mindset, helping deliver a seamless experience for our fans.” ~nominated by Julie Cribbs

Antione Lee, Maintenance Repairer Master; Chase Leiva, Carpenter Master; Kevin Seal, Maintenance Foreman: EXCELLENCE, PERSEVERANCE, SERVICE

“Kevin, Antione and Chase offered to help build the sets for football's official visits this spring. It’s a "Lane Train" themed set, so they offered to build a full subway train set from scratch, as well as a second set with actual sliding metal doors like the train opening. We would normally outsource this kind of build, but they took it on in-house with enthusiasm and it was amazing to see what they can build from scratch. The sets have been a huge hit with recruits and on social media, so we owe them a huge debt of gratitude!”: ~nominated by Zach Greenwell
