Baton Rouge’s own Clyde Edwards-Helaire takes the stage as a first-time panelist for the 3rd Annual Planting Seeds of Hope. A former LSU standout and Super Bowl Champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, Clyde’s journey reflects the power of faith, focus, and mental strength.
As a key part of LSU’s historic 2019 national championship team, he was known for his heart, determination, and playmaking ability—qualities that helped define one of the most memorable seasons in college football history. Following his college success, Edwards-Helaire was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. In the NFL, he has continued to display his trademark versatility and resilience, contributing to one of the league’s most dynamic offenses and earning a Super Bowl championship with the Chiefs.
Off the field, Edwards-Helaire has emerged as a strong voice for mental health, using his platform to open up about the pressures and challenges that athletes face both on and off the field. Through speaking engagements, interviews, and mentorship, he emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, seeking help, and supporting teammates beyond the game.
