Geaux Day 2025 was GOLD!

Held on July 23rd, Geaux Day 2025 was a powerful reminder of what happens when community, compassion, and collaboration come together.

Hosted by LSU and Southern Athletics departments with support from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and Cox Communications, this year’s event welcomed local kids for a full day of fun, games, and learning, which included a chance to team up with student-athletes from LSU and Southern University.

From hands-on activity stations to shared meals and meaningful interactions, the day was packed with energy and excitement. The student-athletes and staff members brought smiles and inspiration, while volunteers and staff worked behind the scenes to make everything run seamlessly.

Student-athletes from both LSU and Southern joined forced to show our children the importance of physical activity and teamwork. By learning new skills and trying different sports, kids were able to experience a wide range of sports and get that one-on-one encouragement from elite collegiate student-athletes!

The historic Maddox Field House on the campus of LSU served as the backdrop for this half-day event. Over 100 children from our community wrapped up their summer fun and sun and played games while enjoying lunch with their favorite Tigers and Jaguars!

We wrapped up the day with an engaging Q&A where the kids asked thoughtful questions…When did you start playing your sport? Is it better to play more than one sport when you’re growing up? Do you have to eat a special diet to play sports? Lots of insight for these young minds!

Thanks to strong partnerships and an incredible team effort, Geaux Day 2025 gave kids an experience they will never forget, and it reminded us of the impact we can make together!
