He played for the Tigers from 1998 to 2001, earning All-SEC honors before launching a 13-season NFL career that included a Super Bowl victory with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009.
Known for his leadership, integrity, and impact both on and off the field, he has become one of the most respected voices in sports. Now a national analyst for ESPN and influential figure online, Ryan continues to share in his insight on football and life, always staying deeply connected to his Louisiana roots and the LSU community that shaped him.
As co-host of The Pivot Podcast, Ryan uses his platform to challenge athletes, students, and communities to redefine strength through honesty, compassion, and resilience. His conversations reach beyond the game, tackling topics of mental wellness, identity, and accountability. Ryan’s approach encourages people from all walks of life to lead with purpose, remain authentic, and embrace vulnerability as a sign of strength.
His guiding philosophy “Decide, Invest, Embrace,” reflects his belief that true success begins with self-awareness, commitment, and heart.
