Celebrate Student-Athlete Mental Health Week Oct 5-12!

As we prepare to kick off Student-Athlete Mental Health Week from October 6th - 12th, LSU Sport Psychology & Counseling would like to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate each of you for the strength, resilience, and passion you bring to our community every day. SPC is committed to student-athlete well-being not just during this special week, but all year long, as we work together to create a culture where mental health and wellness is both prioritized and celebrated.

Throughout the week, several of our sports teams will be highlighting their dedication to both athletic and mental well-being. Please be on the lookout for team-specific celebrations during the competitions listed below and join us for a variety of other events and programs recognizing the importance of coming together to support one another:

Monday, October 6th

Friday, October 10th

World Mental Health Day Tabling & Mental Health Activations Hosted by LSU Sport Psych | 11 am – 1 pm, Broussard Athletic Training Facility @ Tiger Stadium

Saturday, October 11th

The week also includes a department-wide "wear green" celebration of World Mental Health Day on Friday, October 10th, a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health globally. Students, we encourage you to take time for yourself, reflect on your wellness, and make use of resources available to you through the athletic department and in the community:

  • Counseling & Mental Performance Support: Our sport psychology and counseling team is available for individual and team sessions. Feel free to reach out for support at any time at geauxbewell@lsu.edu.

  • Tiger Institute for Sport Leadership & Mental Performance: a leadership and mental performance academy for LSU student-athletes, that provides skill-based instruction and development in areas like mental toughness, leadership, focus, goal setting, and stress management. The program, a collaboration between LSU Sport Psychology & Counseling and LSU Tiger Life, aims to empower student-athletes for success both in their sports and in all aspects of their personal and professional lives. Congratulate this year's cohort!
