“Everywhere I’ve seen him for the last month+ he’s been getting it done, often after hours. He seamlessly picked up the projects I was involved in during a personnel change and never complained of the circumstances. He was literally in the trenches Friday night getting those heavy iron covers back on the trench across the street with the TV truck crew to get the road back open for vehicles.” ~nominated by Jeff deVeer

“It was a hot and steamy two days of September 11 and 12, as it is everyday. The grass soaked with dew. We were hosting a small cross country meet on the 12th. As really the only experts and knowledge people in setting up and positioning the cross country course on the rec field off of River Road, Houston and Sylvia had their work cut out for them. The morning of the 11th, I saw them wheeling off the distance and figuring out where to make an extra turn or two to get what needed to be right to make it a full 2km loop. With the sun beating down and water soaked shoes from the wet grass, they weaved in and out, making small paint marks on the grass, to be flagged the next day. On the 12th they arrived early and made their way around the course setting up flagging, set up a finish line, instructed and coached the teams and then led the race with the John Deere. It was impressive effort beyond the X and O's of coaching, that showed their dedication to hosting a quality home event. They were a one person show of event management, facility set up, and coaching. Bravo to each of them for their work above and beyond.” ~nominated by Todd Lane
